The Art of Home
Notes on making a home peaceful and welcoming, from morning light and linen to the quiet corners where books and flowers gather.
Morning rituals
Linen, light, and a quiet table
Mornings begin with the windows opened and the linen smoothed on the bed. A small vase of fresh flowers waits on the desk, where I keep the books I am reading this season.
The study is the quietest room in the house. Before the day gets loud, I sit there with a cup of tea and a page or two of something worth returning to.

Reflections on home
Hosting and keeping house
Hosting with simplicity
A good evening at home rarely needs more than a clean table, a few candles, and one dish made with care. I have learned that guests remember the conversation far more than the centrepiece.
Tending through the seasons
Each season asks something different of a house. In spring I open the shutters wide, and in winter I bring the lamps closer to the chairs, keeping rooms gentle as the light changes.
