Notes from the kitchen
The kitchen as a gathering place
Seasonal market ingredients shape most of what I cook, from early spring greens to late summer tomatoes. Afternoon tea baking is a small ritual, and an evening supper is often the simplest meal with the most conversation.
The kitchen is where meaningful conversation tends to happen. A plate passed across the table, a loaf shared with a neighbour, a recipe written out by hand: each one keeps a gathering going longer than planned.
